Presentation: Matching, observational studies, & higher education analytics
Here are my slides from a presentation I gave at the Athabasca University Learning Conference 2018. The presentation is a very broad overview of how we might imagine using observational techniques to use 'big data' available at institutions to improve student outcomes.
Much of this stems from our work identifying appropriate alternatives to using Propensity scores and identifying imbalance in observational studies. In a future post I might explain this stuff in more detail, but the presentation below includes links to some useful resources.
